Program Introduction-
China Cross-Cultural Leadership Program (CCLP, formerly TILIP) is a leading i
nternational exchange program initiated by Tufts University in the United Sta
tes. Partnered with the Peking University, The Chinese University of Hong Kon
g and the University of Hong Kong, CCLP is a unique opportunity for cross-cul
tural learning and leadership development through intensive, intellectual inq
uiry and practical study with peers from Hong Kong and America and with pract
itioners, business executives, and scholars from dynamic institutions, compan
ies, and organizations in China and the United States.
For 2006-2007, The CCLP will consists of two major components---the summer se
ssion will be held in Hong Kong & Mainland China and the winter session will
be held in the USA. This year, the summer section will span from June 29th t
o September 1st. Participants from China will partner with Tufts students on
a five-week internship in the influential public and private sectors in Hong
Kong and participate in weekly class discussions and lectures series. After t
he completion of the internship, the participants will travel to Shanghai for
a two-week seminar on urbanization partnered with students from Shanghai uni
versities. The Shanghai component is a new addition to the program designed t
o to enlighten participants on the China’s urbanization to gain a better und
erstanding of the urban planning of Shanghai and her surrounding area through
lectures and field trips. After Shanghai, the participants will go to Beijin
g, where the Peking University contingent will organize an educational and cu
ltural exploration for their fellow students of China’s capital city. The s
tudents can further enrich their experience by contrasting and comparing the
urban development of Shanghai and Beijing
After the summer program, students will return to their respective universiti
es and begin to plan for the China Symposium to be held in February 2007. In
the winter of 2007, students from Beijing and Hong Kong will travel to the US
(New York and Boston) for a two-week program of lectures, meetings and panel
discussions with distinguished practitioners and scholars from the US and Ch
ina. The New York trip includes visits to United Nations and U.S. Military Ac
ademy at West Point.

Application Eligibility:
Students at Peking University of ALL majors are eligible to apply;
The applicant MUST be a student of Peking University from March 2006 to April
2007;
And we look for qualified applicants with:
- One-year commitment to the program
- Enthusiasm and willingness to know more about China and the world
- Proficient language skills in English and Chinese
- Leadership and team spirit
- Strong interpersonal skills
