Position: Linguist Intern - Beijing Google China is looking for an intern to work on analyzing Chinese text. You are expected to help build a model of Chinese sentences and evaluate the mode l on practical examples of Chinese text. You will have access to some of the largest and freshest collections of Chinese text to play with! Your results c ould improve the search experience for every Chinese! Aren't these exciting? Internship time: We expect the internship to start in March 2010 and last for a few months. A part-time commitment is possible during the Spring semester. Requirements: BS/MS/PhD degree in Chinese Language or related field preferred with strong a cademic record. Proficiency in writing in Chinese (vocabulary, grammar, style). Deeply versed through reading Chinese literature. Erudition for the current language of the media. Mastery of the common prose of everyday language. Passion for critical thinking and innovation. Drive to execute and succeed. Ability to work in an English-speaking team (English proficiency is not requi red). Technical experience in computer science and the web is a plus.
