Liu Hailong, PhD, is a professor at the School of Journalism and Communication of the Renmin University of China in Beijing. Dr. Liu is the Associate Director for the Institute of Communication Study at The Center of News and Social Development. He was a guest professor at the Communication School, Chengchi University, Taiwan. He was a visiting scholar at Dentsu, Inc. in Tokyo in 2003, Annenberg School for Communication, University of Pennsylvinia in 2008-2009, City University of Hongkong(2013). Dr. Liu teaches communication theory to undergraduate and graduate students. He is the author of Revisiting the Grey Area:Narration and Merories in the History of Communiocation Studies(2015). Propaganda: Ideas,Discouse and Legitimation (2013). Mass Communication Theory: Paradigms and Schools (2008) and co-author of Introducing the Media Today (2005). He has translated five books on communication and journalism into Chinese: Milestones in Mass Communication Research: Media Effect, News That Matters: Television and American Opinion, Introducing Communication Theory: Analysis and Application ,The Elements of Journalism and Personal Influence, Blur: How to Know What's True in the Age of Information Overload. Now his research interests include political communication, the history of Chinese communication study, intellectual history of communicatio.
